45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The El Paso Electric Company has greatly benefited
67 its community through its support of the El Paso Independent School
78 District Education Foundation; and
89 WHEREAS, Established in 1994, the EPISD Education Foundation
910 is dedicated to providing innovative teaching and helpful resources
1011 to students interested in careers in science, technology,
1112 engineering, and math (STEM) fields; through the years, the
1213 organization has engaged in corporate partnerships and has hosted
1314 fund-raising events and employee giving campaigns to award more
1415 than $1.4 million in college scholarships and classroom impact
1516 grants; and
1617 WHEREAS, The El Paso Electric Company has helped advance the
1718 foundation's worthwhile mission by pledging a generous donation to
1819 its 2014-2015 scholarship fund and by serving as honorary chair for
1920 its Campaign for Excellence; and
2021 WHEREAS, The education of young Texans is vital to the
2122 continued prosperity and dynamism of the Lone Star State, and the El
2223 Paso Electric Company has demonstrated a noteworthy commitment to
2324 helping prepare students to meet the challenges and opportunities
2425 that lie ahead; now, therefore, be it
2526 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2627 Legislature hereby commend the El Paso Electric Company for its
2728 contributions to the El Paso Independent School District Education
2829 Foundation and extend to the company sincere best wishes for the
2930 future; and, be it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for the El Paso Electric Company as an expression of high
3233 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
