| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1994, the EPISD Education Foundation |

| 9 | 10 | | is dedicated to providing innovative teaching and helpful resources |

| 10 | 11 | | to students interested in careers in science, technology, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | engineering, and math (STEM) fields; through the years, the |

| 12 | 13 | | organization has engaged in corporate partnerships and has hosted |

| 13 | 14 | | fund-raising events and employee giving campaigns to award more |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | than $1.4 million in college scholarships and classroom impact |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The El Paso Electric Company has helped advance the |

| 17 | 18 | | foundation's worthwhile mission by pledging a generous donation to |

| 18 | 19 | | its 2014-2015 scholarship fund and by serving as honorary chair for |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The education of young Texans is vital to the |

| 21 | 22 | | continued prosperity and dynamism of the Lone Star State, and the El |

| 22 | 23 | | Paso Electric Company has demonstrated a noteworthy commitment to |

| 23 | 24 | | helping prepare students to meet the challenges and opportunities |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
