9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The Maura Women Helping Women Award has been |

10 | 11 | | presented for the past 36 years to those individuals who are working |

11 | 12 | | to improve the lives of women and girls in North Texas; and |

12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Liz Cedillo-Pereira is the managing attorney of |

13 | 14 | | Cedillo-Pereira and Associates, an immigration and nationality law |
---|
14 | 15 | | firm, and she teaches immigration law for The University of Texas |
---|
15 | 16 | | School of Law Conference on Immigration and Nationality Law and for |

16 | 17 | | a course on the subject presented by the State Bar of Texas; in |

17 | 18 | | 2007, she cofounded the Dallas "Know Your Rights" project for the |

18 | 19 | | American Immigration Lawyers Association, and she works with the |
