H.R. No. 1900 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, October 18, 2014, was indeed a special day for T. J. Aulds and Dr. Beth Lewis of League City, for on that day they exchanged their wedding vows in Kemah and embarked on a new life together as husband and wife; and WHEREAS, Mr. Aulds is a native of Texas City and an accomplished journalist, having worked in radio, television, newspaper, and online publications; he presently serves as the mainland editor for the Galveston County Daily News and as editor of the Connection newspapers; and WHEREAS, Dr. Lewis met Mr. Aulds when he interviewed her at the start of her current three-year term as the first female president of the College of the Mainland; she has more than 25 years of experience in higher education instruction and administration, and she previously worked as the vice president of academic affairs at Northeast Lakeview College and the dean of academic affairs at Blinn College; and WHEREAS, When not involved with their myriad professional responsibilities, Mr. Aulds and Dr. Lewis enjoy spending time together at their home in League City with their dogs, Gracie and Olivia; and WHEREAS, T. J. Aulds and Beth Lewis share a profound bond of love, respect, and mutual regard that has only deepened with the passage of time, and the strength of their commitment ensures that many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate T. J. Aulds and Dr. Beth Lewis on their marriage and extend to them sincere best wishes for a lifetime of happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Aulds and Dr. Lewis as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
