| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, October 18, 2014, was indeed a special day for |

| 6 | 7 | | T. J. Aulds and Dr. Beth Lewis of League City, for on that day they |

| 7 | 8 | | exchanged their wedding vows in Kemah and embarked on a new life |

| 8 | 9 | | together as husband and wife; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Aulds is a native of Texas City and an |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | accomplished journalist, having worked in radio, television, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | newspaper, and online publications; he presently serves as the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | mainland editor for the Galveston County Daily News and as editor of |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | the Connection newspapers; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Lewis met Mr. Aulds when he interviewed her at |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | the start of her current three-year term as the first female |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | president of the College of the Mainland; she has more than 25 years |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | of experience in higher education instruction and administration, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | and she previously worked as the vice president of academic affairs |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | at Northeast Lakeview College and the dean of academic affairs at |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Blinn College; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, When not involved with their myriad professional |

| 22 | 23 | | responsibilities, Mr. Aulds and Dr. Lewis enjoy spending time |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | together at their home in League City with their dogs, Gracie and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Olivia; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, T. J. Aulds and Beth Lewis share a profound bond of |

| 26 | 27 | | love, respect, and mutual regard that has only deepened with the |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | passage of time, and the strength of their commitment ensures that |

| 28 | 29 | | many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
