| 10 | 11 | | that was founded in 2003 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, by Nancy |

| 11 | 12 | | Gianni after her daughter, GiGi, was born with Down syndrome; |

| 12 | 13 | | GiGi's Playhouse offers free educational and therapeutic programs |

| 13 | 14 | | to children and adults of all ages who have been diagnosed with Down |

| 14 | 15 | | syndrome; its curriculum, which was designed by teachers and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | clinicians, focuses on advancing literacy, math, motor, and social |

| 16 | 17 | | skills as well as on building self-esteem; the centers also provide |

| 17 | 18 | | important opportunities for family networking and support; last |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | year, GiGi's Playhouse served more than 25,000 participants in 22 |

| 19 | 20 | | cities in the United States and Mexico; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The first location in the Lone Star State, GiGi's |

| 21 | 22 | | Playhouse El Paso was founded by Maggie Moody, who wanted to honor |

| 22 | 23 | | her daughter, Melissa, an adult with Down syndrome, and to bring the |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | organization's invaluable services to area families affected by |

| 24 | 25 | | Down syndrome; the Junior League of El Paso, Inc., adopted the |

| 25 | 26 | | project for 2014-2015, committing both financial assistance and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | volunteer hours to the development of the center; league members |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | visited the original Playhouse in Illinois and met with the |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | organization's founder and local participants; in anticipation of |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | the center's opening, a highly successful gala was held in El Paso |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | on March 20, 2015, with special guest speaker Lauren Potter from the |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | television show Glee; the actress, who has Down syndrome herself, |

| 32 | 33 | | also appeared at a meet-and-greet breakfast at Scotsdale Elementary |

| 33 | 34 | | School during World Down Syndrome Day; and |

| 34 | 35 | | WHEREAS, By empowering individuals with Down syndrome and by |

| 35 | 36 | | raising awareness in the community about how much those with Down |

| 36 | 37 | | syndrome can achieve, GiGi's Playhouse is making a positive |
