No. 1905 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Staff members of Radiology Associates have been honored by the American Cancer Society for their exemplary participation in the Corpus Christi Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk; and WHEREAS, Each year, the American Cancer Society holds walks in nearly 300 communities across the nation; these events honor breast cancer survivors and raise awareness of how to reduce one's risk of developing the disease; the money collected enables the society to fund groundbreaking research and to provide 24-hour information and support, as well as a range of services for breast cancer patients; and WHEREAS, In 2014, a Radiology Associates team participated in the Corpus Christi Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, raising more than $66,000 for the cause and earning distinction as a Pacesetter Team; Radiology Associates stands out not only as the sole group in Corpus Christi to meet the $25,000 threshold for achieving Pacesetter honors, but also as one of the top 20 Pacesetter Teams in the nation, ranking 14th on a list that includes teams from a number of larger corporations; and WHEREAS, A group of board-certified radiologists and some 200 employees, Radiology Associates offers a full range of outpatient imaging services and has been designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology; and WHEREAS, By raising money as well as public awareness, the members of the Radiology Associates team have made a notable contribution in the fight against cancer, and they are indeed deserving of recognition for their outstanding efforts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby commend Radiology Associates for its commitment to combatting breast cancer and congratulate the organization on its stellar achievement in the 2014 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Radiology Associates as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
