| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 7 | | passing of Annastazie Nemec Kennedy of Corpus Christi on March 29, |

| 7 | 8 | | 2015, at the age of 98; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The former Annastazie Spalek, affectionately known |

| 9 | 10 | | as Nancy, was born on July 31, 1916, to Frank and Marie Spalek in |

| 10 | 11 | | Plum; she enjoyed a rewarding family life with her husband Fred |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | J. Nemec and their eight children, Michael, Anna Marie, Richard, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Elizabeth, Patricia, Fred, Joe, and Benny; after Mr. Nemec passed |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | away, she was fortunate to find love again with her second husband, |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Harry Kennedy; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Mrs. Kennedy delighted in cooking and baking for her loved ones, |

| 17 | 18 | | whom she treated to bounteous Czech meals and such other delicious |

| 18 | 19 | | fare as strudels and kolaches; she also counted sewing, quilting, |

| 19 | 20 | | and crocheting among her favorite pastimes; Mrs. Kennedy was a |

| 20 | 21 | | valued, longtime member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | where she was involved with the Altar Society and other church |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | activities; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Nancy Nemec Kennedy enjoyed a life that was rich in |

| 24 | 25 | | the intangibles that matter most, and she is deeply missed by all |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | those who held her dear; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Annastazie Nemec |

| 28 | 29 | | Kennedy and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her family: |

| 29 | 30 | | to her children, Patricia Nemec, Fred Nemec, Joe R. Nemec and his |

| 30 | 31 | | wife, Pam, and Benny Nemec and his wife, Marilyn; to her son-in-law, |

| 31 | 32 | | Earl Runte; to her daughter-in-law, Lisa Syma; to her sister, Norma |
