| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Katelin Bailey of Jacksboro took top honors in |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Leadership Development Events allow FFA members to |

| 9 | 10 | | showcase their communication skills in such competitions as public |

| 10 | 11 | | speaking, decision making, broadcasting, and job interviewing; |

| 11 | 12 | | team and individual contests are designed to reinforce and apply |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | information and skills taught in agricultural science classes; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Competing against hundreds of fellow FFA students |

| 14 | 15 | | from around the state, this talented young woman claimed the state |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | championship banner by enthusiastically and accurately reciting |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | the FFA Creed before a panel of judges; with her victory, Ms. Bailey |

| 17 | 18 | | earned her second FFA state title, having previously won the Senior |

| 18 | 19 | | Skills event during her sophomore year; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Bailey is a senior at Jacksboro High School and |

| 20 | 21 | | a valued member of the Jacksboro FFA; upon graduation, she plans to |

| 21 | 22 | | pursue a degree in biology at Texas A&M University, and she hopes to |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | eventually attend medical school; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Katelin Bailey has demonstrated remarkable skill as |

| 24 | 25 | | a public speaker, and she may indeed reflect with pride on her |

| 25 | 26 | | outstanding achievement; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
