45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Alice Aanstoos of Missouri City retired from AT&T on
67 March 31, 2015, after 34 years of outstanding service, and this
78 event provides a welcome opportunity to take note of the
89 achievements of this esteemed professional; and
910 WHEREAS, In her role as regional vice president of external
1011 affairs for AT&T, Ms. Aanstoos was responsible for directing
1112 community activities, state and local lobbying efforts, and
1213 charitable contributions in Houston and South Texas; over the
1314 course of her career, she managed every aspect of public affairs,
1415 and she has held leadership positions with the company in Missouri,
1516 Kansas, and Texas; and
1617 WHEREAS, Ms. Aanstoos has also been involved with numerous
1718 worthy community organizations; she currently serves as the chair
1819 of the board of the Greater Houston American Red Cross, and she is a
1920 member of the University of Houston Hobby Center for Public Policy
2021 Advisory Board, among others; and
2122 WHEREAS, For her myriad efforts to better her region,
2223 Ms. Aanstoos has been recognized with a number of volunteer awards,
2324 and she has been nationally honored with the Distinguished
2425 Leadership Award from the Community Leadership Association; in
2526 2006, she was named one of Leadership Houston's 25 most
2627 distinguished graduates; and
2728 WHEREAS, After earning a bachelor's degree in journalism from
2829 The University of Texas at Austin, Ms. Aanstoos went on to graduate
2930 from the University of Houston's Center for Executive Development
3031 program in the School of Business; additionally, she is an American
3132 Leadership Forum Senior Fellow and an alumna of the FBI Citizens
3233 Academy; and
3334 WHEREAS, Through her dedication, professionalism, and
3435 commitment to excellence, Alice Aanstoos has greatly benefited the
3536 citizens of Houston and the surrounding area, and she may indeed
3637 reflect with pride on a career well spent as she embarks on the next
3738 exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
3839 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
3940 Legislature hereby congratulate Alice Aanstoos on her retirement
4041 from AT&T and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and,
4142 be it further
4243 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4344 prepared for Ms. Aanstoos as an expression of high regard by the
4445 Texas House of Representatives.
