H.R. No. 1942
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Dan and Leotia Morgan of China Spring
celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on March 15, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Dan Morgan and the former Leotia Netherland were
united in matrimony in Waco on that memorable day in 1940; through
the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been
made even richer with the addition of three children, Tommy Morgan
and his wife, Diane, D. W. Morgan, and Phyllis Thomas, as well as 8
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Morgan is
retired from his work as a plumber and Mrs. Morgan has been a
devoted homemaker; moreover, both are active in the congregation at
Grace Baptist Church of China Spring; and
WHEREAS, Dan and Leotia Morgan have delighted in seven and a
half decades of abiding love and affection for one another, and they
are among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a
lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Dan and Leotia Morgan on their 75th
wedding anniversary and extend to them warmest best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
