5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |

6 | 7 | | of Louis Dewald of Copperas Cove, who passed away on March 31, 2015, |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born in Lampasas on December 27, 1946, to Louis and |

9 | 10 | | Iris Dewald, "P. O." Dewald graduated in 1965 from Copperas Cove |

10 | 11 | | High School, where he excelled in a variety of sports, including |
---|
11 | 12 | | football, basketball, baseball, track, and golf, and he |
---|
12 | 13 | | subsequently earned a degree from Texas State University; and |
---|
13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, On August 7, 1965, Mr. Dewald exchanged vows of |
---|
14 | 15 | | matrimony with his high school sweetheart, the former Sheila |
---|
15 | 16 | | Rogers, and the couple went on to share nearly five decades of |
---|
16 | 17 | | marriage; over the years, they became the proud parents of three |
---|
17 | 18 | | children, Jeff, Dustin, and Jodi, and they eventually welcomed six |
---|
18 | 19 | | treasured grandchildren into their family; and |
---|
19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Dewald had a fulfilling career that spanned more |
---|
20 | 21 | | than four decades, over the course of which he worked as a |
---|
21 | 22 | | developer, a home and school builder, and a rancher; active in his |
---|
22 | 23 | | community, he generously volunteered his time with a number of |
---|
23 | 24 | | civic organizations and as a Little League coach, and he was also an |
---|
24 | 25 | | ardent supporter of Copperas Cove High athletics; in his leisure |
---|
25 | 26 | | time, he enjoyed the company of his loved ones as well as hunting, |
---|
26 | 27 | | fishing, team roping, and golfing; and |
---|
27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, P. O. Dewald lived a rich and purposeful life, and he |
---|
28 | 29 | | will forever be remembered with deep affection by all who knew him; |

30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Louis "P. O." Dewald |
