56 WHEREAS, Members of young professionals organizations,
67 student governments, and other youth groups from around the state
78 are gathering at the Texas Capitol in Austin on April 17, 2015, to
89 gain further insight into the workings of state government; and
910 WHEREAS, Young people and students are among the Lone Star
1011 State's most important resources, contributing greatly to the
1112 economic prosperity of present and future generations; groups such
1213 as those in attendance today allow emerging leaders to network, to
1314 learn from one another, and to develop vital career skills; and
1415 WHEREAS, With the 84th Legislative Session well under way,
1516 the Capitol is a source of bustling political activity, offering
1617 visitors an excellent opportunity to see their state government in
1718 action; the civic-minded young Texans attending this event have
1819 demonstrated commendable initiative and enthusiasm about the
1920 democratic process, which will serve them well throughout the
2021 coming years; and
2122 WHEREAS, By striving to strengthen their professional ties
2223 and build on their knowledge about state government, these dynamic
2324 young Texans are helping to create a bright and promising future for
2425 the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
2526 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2627 Legislature hereby recognize April 17, 2015, as Young Texans Day at
2728 the State Capitol and extend to all those visiting best wishes for a
2829 memorable, engaging, and informative day in Austin.
