R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Livingston Elite Cheer team was named National
Grand Champion at the United Cheer National Championship, which
took place in Galveston on March 7, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Competing at the Galveston Convention Center, the
Livingston Elite Cheer team demonstrated outstanding spirit,
precision, and athleticism to capture the Grand Champion crown;
these talented performers went on to take part in the United Cheer
Southern Open Showcase the following day, where they made another
impressive showing to claim Team Champion honors; and
WHEREAS, These victories put the finishing touches on a
stellar 2014-2015 season for Livingston Elite Cheer; the team
previously won its division at the United Cheer South Texas State
Championship in December, and it also took home first place in the
recreational elementary division at the United Cheer Texas Open
Championship in January; and
WHEREAS, Ably guided by coach Mandy Green, the members of the
Livingston Elite Cheer squad include Annetta Boothe, Hailey
Collier, Olivia Cronk, Ytzel Davalos, Shelby Flannery, Madalyn
Green, Hannah Grace Handeland, Ashley Howard, Lauren Keeley, Sonya
Kelley, Renee Kirby, Kyra Maddox, Jon'Toyrian McNeal, Za'Mirajn
Pecero, Mia Poncho, Julia Pulley, Payton Reeves, Savannah Ruiz,
Lori Schoppe, Chesney Sweet, Michaela Villarreal, and Gabriela
Watson; and
WHEREAS, Winning a national championship represents the
culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
commitment to excellence, and the members of Livingston Elite Cheer
will treasure their memories of this notable achievement for years
to come; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Livingston Elite Cheer team on
winning National Grand Champion honors at the United Cheer National
Championship and extend to the team's members sincere best wishes
for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
