 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Leah Olguin of Creekview High School in Carrollton
 reached the pinnacle of high school wrestling success by winning
 the championship in the 5A 119-pound weight class at the 2015
 University Interscholastic League State Tournament, held February
 20 and 21 in Garland; and
 WHEREAS, Demonstrating remarkable skill and dedication,
 Ms. Olguin won her first two matches with falls before defeating
 top-ranked Shiann Regalado from Pampa High School by a score of 10-2
 to clinch a spot in the finals; there, she claimed the 5A crown by
 overwhelming Rebekah Cordova of El Paso Hanks High to record a 20-6
 triumph; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Olguin's championship victory helped the
 Creekview Mustangs claim second place in the team competition, and
 it put the finishing touches on an impressive senior campaign in
 which she compiled 37 wins and only 2 losses; this marked the fourth
 consecutive year in which she qualified to wrestle at the UIL State
 Tournament, and she also had the honor of serving as team captain
 for the 2014-2015 season; and
 WHEREAS, In proving herself one of the finest high school
 wrestlers in the State of Texas, Leah Olguin has realized a
 well-deserved reward for her countless hours of hard work, and she
 may take justifiable pride in this significant accomplishment; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Leah Olguin on becoming the 2015
 UIL 5A wrestling state champion in the 119-pound weight class and
 extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Olguin as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
