H.R. No. 1985
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of the Rockwall County Republican Women are
gathering in Austin on April 16, 2015, to celebrate the Texas
Federation of Republican Women Legislative Day at the Capitol; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1976, this notable club is dedicated to
advancing conservative principles and helping Republican
candidates win elected office; the RCRW also works to educate
voters about key issues and legislation, and its members promote
the standing of women by encouraging their involvement in political
matters; and
WHEREAS, The RCRW also supports a number of worthwhile causes
in the local area, hosting yard sales and other fund-raisers and
providing assistance to several nonprofit organizations; moreover,
the group annually awards a scholarship to three students in the
Rockwall Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, Through their grassroots advocacy, members of the
Rockwall County Republican Women are making a lasting difference in
their community, state, and nation, and they may take justifiable
pride in the exemplary model of citizenship they have set for their
fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby commend the members of the Rockwall County
Republican Women on their outstanding civic engagement and extend
to them sincere best wishes for an informative and enjoyable visit
to Austin; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the club as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
