| 10 | 11 | | enforcement profession who, by their selfless devotion to the |

| 11 | 12 | | public welfare, have enabled us to enjoy the benefits of a peaceful |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Too seldom recognized and sometimes taken for |

| 14 | 15 | | granted by the public they so faithfully serve, these intrepid |

| 15 | 16 | | individuals daily risk their lives in order to preserve domestic |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Chief of Police Michael A. Pimentel of the Elmendorf |

| 18 | 19 | | Police Department earned the respect and admiration of his peers |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, which spanned 43 years, Chief |

| 22 | 23 | | of Police Pimentel demonstrated the loyalty, courage, and |

| 23 | 24 | | self-sacrifice that are consistent with the highest ideals of the |

| 24 | 25 | | law enforcement profession; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Killed in the line of duty on Saturday, August 23, |

| 26 | 27 | | 2014, at the age of 64, Chief of Police Pimentel will long be missed |
