45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Jackson S. Riggins of Boy Scouts of America Troop
67 No. 405 in Georgetown has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this
78 accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and
89 WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant
910 honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the
1011 scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding
1112 criteria, Mr. Riggins earned 33 merit badges, recorded 104 days and
1213 nights of camping, and took part in 61 service projects totaling 261
1314 hours; he successfully completed an Eagle Scout project, which
1415 involved removing an invasive plant species known as mustard
1516 cabbage at Berry Springs Park; and
1617 WHEREAS, A sophomore at Georgetown High School, this fine
1718 young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability
1819 throughout his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration
1920 of the fellow members of his troop as he worked toward the highest
2021 rank that the organization offers; and
2122 WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Riggins has demonstrated a dedication to
2223 excellence and a perseverance in the pursuit of his goals that have
2324 proven him worthy to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed
2425 reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
2526 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2627 Legislature hereby congratulate Jackson S. Riggins on achieving
2728 the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for
2829 continued success and happiness; and, be it further
2930 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3031 prepared for Eagle Scout Riggins as an expression of high regard by
3132 the Texas House of Representatives.
