| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Detective Laurie Griswold retired from the |

| 6 | 7 | | Georgetown Police Department on November 26, 2014, drawing to a |

| 7 | 8 | | close a notable career in law enforcement that spanned 20 years; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Griswold completed police academy training and |

| 9 | 10 | | joined the Georgetown Police Department in 1994; she went on to |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | distinguish herself in a range of duties over her two decades with |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | the department, initially working as a patrol officer before |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | earning a promotion to detective; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The longest-tenured female officer at the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | department, she often shared her expertise as a mentor to new |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | officers and other members of GPD; in retirement, she looks forward |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | to spending time with her grandchildren and pursuing a longtime |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | interest in woodworking; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Detective Griswold's dedication, professionalism, |

| 19 | 20 | | and commitment to the safety and welfare of the public have greatly |

| 20 | 21 | | benefited the citizens of Georgetown and earned her the respect and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | admiration of her fellow officers, and she may indeed take pride in |

| 22 | 23 | | a career well spent; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 24 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Laurie Griswold on her retirement |

| 25 | 26 | | from the Georgetown Police Department and extend to her sincere |

| 26 | 27 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
