45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Detective Laurie Griswold retired from the
67 Georgetown Police Department on November 26, 2014, drawing to a
78 close a notable career in law enforcement that spanned 20 years; and
89 WHEREAS, Ms. Griswold completed police academy training and
910 joined the Georgetown Police Department in 1994; she went on to
1011 distinguish herself in a range of duties over her two decades with
1112 the department, initially working as a patrol officer before
1213 earning a promotion to detective; and
1314 WHEREAS, The longest-tenured female officer at the
1415 department, she often shared her expertise as a mentor to new
1516 officers and other members of GPD; in retirement, she looks forward
1617 to spending time with her grandchildren and pursuing a longtime
1718 interest in woodworking; and
1819 WHEREAS, Detective Griswold's dedication, professionalism,
1920 and commitment to the safety and welfare of the public have greatly
2021 benefited the citizens of Georgetown and earned her the respect and
2122 admiration of her fellow officers, and she may indeed take pride in
2223 a career well spent; now, therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby congratulate Laurie Griswold on her retirement
2526 from the Georgetown Police Department and extend to her sincere
2627 best wishes for the future; and, be it further
2728 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2829 prepared for Detective Griswold as an expression of high regard by
2930 the Texas House of Representatives.
