 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
 mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Joanne and Robert Allen
 of Georgetown celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on
 December 29, 2014; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Allen were joined in matrimony in 1954
 at a ceremony held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Albuquerque, New
 Mexico, while both were serving in the U.S. Army; through the
 years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes
 their children, Mitch Allen and his wife, Julie, Julia Carleton and
 her husband, Tom, and Matthew Allen and his wife, Kerri, as well as
 their grandchildren, Hannah, Maddie, Abby, and Jack Allen and Ava,
 Lyla, and Ella Carleton; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Allen, who grew up in Austin and holds
 bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration from
 Southern Methodist University, is retired from the Texas Department
 of State Health Services after a nearly five-decade career in voice
 communications that included tenures with Dictaphone Corp. and Gulf
 Telephone; among the first class of graduates from the Caruth
 School of Dental Hygiene at the Baylor College of Dentistry in 1957,
 Mrs. Allen, a Wisconsin native, remains associated with a dental
 office in Taylor; respected members of the Georgetown community for
 the past 42 years, the couple have also been very active in the Zion
 Lutheran Church and School at Walburg since shortly after settling
 in Georgetown in 1972; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Allen have enjoyed six decades of
 abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
 exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
 commitment; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Joanne and Robert Allen on their
 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
 continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
