| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may |

| 6 | 7 | | comfort those saddened by the passing of Edward Andrew Bennett Jr. |

| 7 | 8 | | of Holly Lake Ranch on January 8, 2015, at the age of 82; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born on Valentine's Day 1932 in San Antonio, Ed |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | Bennett was the only child of Edward Bennett Sr. and Louise LaFitte |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Bennett; he moved with his family to Houston and later to Waco, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | where he graduated from high school in 1949; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A registered professional engineer, Mr. Bennett |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | received a degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | University in 1953 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army artillery |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | before earning his master's degree in Austin; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Bennett enjoyed a notable career as GSI's |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | manager for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East before serving as |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | president of GEO Space in Houston; he retired following 25 years as |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | owner and operator of Texas Air Management, an HVAC contracting |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | company; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Active in his community, this esteemed gentleman |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | served as a trustee for the Harmony Independent School District, |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Lamb & Lion Ministries, and Holly Tree Chapel, where he and his |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | family were longtime congregants; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Although Ed Bennett will be deeply missed, cherished |

| 26 | 27 | | memories of time spent in his company will long endure in the hearts |

| 27 | 28 | | of his family and friends; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Edward Andrew Bennett |
