| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Corrigan Masonic Lodge No. 1103 celebrated the |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, One of the world's oldest secular fraternal |

| 8 | 9 | | societies, the Masons have a long tradition in Texas, dating back to |

| 9 | 10 | | 1837, when the first three lodges were established; and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Since the adoption of its charter on December 20, |

| 11 | 12 | | 1914, the Corrigan lodge has served as a source of inspiring |

| 12 | 13 | | fraternal unity for many generations of members and has had an |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | enduring and positive influence in Polk County; the present lodge |

| 14 | 15 | | was erected in 1962, providing members with an official gathering |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | place to carry on the tradition of Masonic service and fellowship; |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The centennial celebration was held in the |

| 18 | 19 | | Corrigan-Camden High School cafeteria and drew lodge members as |

| 19 | 20 | | well as dignitaries from the Grand Lodge of Texas; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, For the past century, the Corrigan Masonic Lodge has |

| 21 | 22 | | played an important role in the Corrigan community, and it is indeed |

| 22 | 23 | | appropriate that its members, both past and present, be recognized |

| 23 | 24 | | for their dedication and service; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate all those associated with Corrigan |

| 26 | 27 | | Masonic Lodge No. 1103 on their organization's 100th anniversary |
