| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Matthew Aaron Goodrum of Boy Scouts of America Troop |

| 6 | 7 | | No. 540 in Houston has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |

| 9 | 10 | | honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |

| 10 | 11 | | scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |

| 11 | 12 | | criteria, Mr. Goodrum earned the requisite 21 merit badges and |

| 12 | 13 | | successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his |

| 13 | 14 | | community; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The son of David Goodrum and Melinda Massey and a |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | junior at St. Pius X High School, this fine young Texan has |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his |

| 17 | 18 | | scouting career; he has won the respect and admiration of the fellow |

| 18 | 19 | | members of his troop through his service as patrol leader and as an |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | inductee of the Brotherhood of the Order of the Arrow; furthermore, |

| 20 | 21 | | he has the distinction of becoming the 50th Eagle Scout from his |

| 21 | 22 | | troop, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Goodrum's dedication to excellence and |

| 23 | 24 | | his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy |

| 24 | 25 | | to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with |

| 25 | 26 | | pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
