| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The son of John Nelson and Janet Scalia, this fine |

| 10 | 11 | | young Texan has mastered a number of important skills in his quest |

| 11 | 12 | | to become an Eagle Scout; he has earned 34 merit badges requiring |

| 12 | 13 | | expertise in such diverse areas as archery, geology, and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | photography; moreover, he has gained experience in leadership and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | teamwork while undertaking his Eagle Scout project, which involved |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | constructing flower and vegetable garden boxes for two classrooms |

| 16 | 17 | | at the Montessori Country Day School in Houston; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A valued member of Boy Scout Troop No. 652 and the |

| 18 | 19 | | Order of the Arrow, Mr. Nelson has served his peers as a patrol, |

| 19 | 20 | | assistant senior patrol, and senior patrol leader, and in so doing, |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | he has exemplified the many positive traits for which Boy Scouts are |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | renowned; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for |

| 23 | 24 | | attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, William Colin Nelson has |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the Boy Scouts |

| 25 | 26 | | organization and its ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he |

| 26 | 27 | | has acquired along the way will indeed serve him well in the years |
