45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Austin Clark of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 13
67 in Houston has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this
78 accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and
89 WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant
910 honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the
1011 scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding
1112 criteria, Mr. Clark earned 23 merit badges, including those
1213 requiring expertise in such diverse areas as oceanography,
1314 computers, and space exploration; for his Eagle Scout project, he
1415 built a walkway to an outdoor chapel at South Main Baptist Church,
1516 where his grandparents were married; and
1617 WHEREAS, The son of John and Beth Clark, this fine young Texan
1718 has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his
1819 scouting career, winning the respect and admiration of the fellow
1920 members of his troop as he worked toward the highest rank that the
2021 organization offers; and
2122 WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Clark's dedication to excellence and his
2223 perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to
2324 stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride
2425 on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
2526 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2627 Legislature hereby congratulate Austin Clark on achieving the rank
2728 of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
2829 success; and, be it further
2930 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3031 prepared for Mr. Clark as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3132 House of Representatives.
