H.R. No. 2122 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout insignia is bestowed on those members of the Boy Scouts of America who advance through the program to its highest rank, and Paul H. Rush of Hunters Creek may now count himself a member of that select group; and WHEREAS, A sophomore at Second Baptist School, this fine young Texan has mastered a number of important skills in his quest to become an Eagle Scout; he has earned 24 merit badges requiring expertise in such diverse areas as first aid, personal fitness, and environmental science, and he has gained experience in leadership and teamwork while undertaking his Eagle Scout project, which involved enhancing the children's play area at the Star of Hope Mission service agency for the homeless; and WHEREAS, A valued member of Boy Scout Troop No. 13 in Houston, Mr. Rush has served his peers as a patrol leader, quartermaster, historian, and group guide, and in so doing, he has exemplified the many positive traits for which Boy Scouts are renowned; and WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Paul Rush has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the Boy Scouts organization and its ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the way will indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Eagle Scout Paul H. Rush on achieving this prestigious rank and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Eagle Scout Rush as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
