| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The only child of Mark and Kathleen Walker, Lee |

| 9 | 10 | | Walker was born in El Paso on October 25, 1994; he attended |

| 10 | 11 | | St. Clement's School and Coronado High School, where he was |

| 11 | 12 | | respected and admired by teachers and classmates alike and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | participated in a number of extracurricular activities; he played |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | in the percussion section of the marching band, tutored his fellow |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | students, served as treasurer for the National Honor Society, and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | qualified for state in the Academic Decathlon and for nationals as a |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | member of the debate team; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Though modest about his many achievements, he was |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | recognized with the Rector's Award for highest academic performance |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | at St. Clement's, with a 2009 President's Education Award for |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Outstanding Academic Excellence, and with several accolades |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | through the outdoor education program; furthermore, he was a |

| 22 | 23 | | national merit semifinalist and graduated sixth in his class at |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Coronado; he earned a scholarship to The University of Texas at |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Austin Jackson School of Geosciences and completed his freshman |

| 25 | 26 | | year in the Plan II Honors Program; he was also a member of the Plan |

| 26 | 27 | | II Pre-Law Society; and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Passionate about nature, Mr. Walker was active in |

| 28 | 29 | | the Sunday Morning Hiking Club and volunteered on trail crews with |

| 29 | 30 | | the Student Conservation Association at Sam Houston National Forest |

| 30 | 31 | | and at Kenai Fjords National Park in Alaska; he was an avid |

| 31 | 32 | | outdoorsman who took numerous trips to pursue his love of camping, |

| 32 | 33 | | hunting, fishing, and hiking; he visited such noteworthy locations |

| 33 | 34 | | as Yosemite and Yellowstone National Parks, Muir Woods, Durango, |

| 34 | 35 | | Jackson Hole, Washington, D.C., the United Kingdom, France, and New |

| 35 | 36 | | Zealand; an accomplished chef, he also enjoyed following Julia |

| 36 | 37 | | Child's recipes and making his own jam; and |

| 37 | 38 | | WHEREAS, Possessed of a brilliant mind, a dry wit, and an |

| 38 | 39 | | exceptional generosity of spirit, Lee Walker touched countless |

| 39 | 40 | | lives during his journey on this earth, and he will always be |

| 40 | 41 | | remembered with great tenderness and affection by all those who |
