45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Deputy Chief Jeff Matthews has rendered outstanding
67 service to his fellow North Texas residents during his 30-year
78 career with the Arlington Police Department; and
89 WHEREAS, The well-being of a community depends on the skill
910 and courage of its police personnel, as well as on their steadfast
1011 commitment to serve and protect; and
1112 WHEREAS, A respected public servant, Deputy Chief Matthews
1213 can take justifiable pride in the contributions he has made in
1314 safeguarding the lives and property of local citizens; and
1415 WHEREAS, Throughout his distinguished tenure, Deputy Chief
1516 Matthews has exemplified the highest ideals of the law enforcement
1617 profession, and he is indeed deserving of recognition for a job well
1718 done; now, therefore, be it
1819 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
1920 Legislature hereby honor Deputy Chief Jeff Matthews for his 30
2021 years of service with the Arlington Police Department and extend to
2122 him sincere best wishes for continued success in his vital work;
2223 and, be it further
2324 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2425 prepared for Deputy Chief Matthews as an expression of high regard
2526 by the Texas House of Representatives.
