| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Founded in 1990 by Julia Scott and Patrick Noonan, |

| 9 | 10 | | the Carrollton/Farmers Branch Cyclones is a chartered Special |

| 10 | 11 | | Olympics team that provides adults and children with intellectual |

| 11 | 12 | | disabilities year-round sports training and competition in a wide |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | variety of athletic events; the program relies solely on volunteers |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | and is responsible for raising funds to cover entry fees and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | expenses related to training and travel; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Since its inception, the team has offered hundreds |

| 16 | 17 | | of athletes the opportunity to compete in such diverse activities |

| 17 | 18 | | as basketball, bowling, aquatics, track, bocce, and flag football; |

| 18 | 19 | | team members have represented the cities of Carrollton and Farmers |

| 19 | 20 | | Branch at local, area, and statewide contests every year; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The talented athletes of the Carrollton/Farmers |

| 21 | 22 | | Branch Cyclones have demonstrated great enthusiasm and |

| 22 | 23 | | determination in the pursuit of their goals, and together with |

| 23 | 24 | | their many supporters in the community they have created memories |

| 24 | 25 | | that will last a lifetime; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby recognize the Carrollton/Farmers Branch |

| 27 | 28 | | Cyclones on the occasion of the team's 25th anniversary and extend |
