| 6 | 7 | | and shared experiences, and Bennie Lee Dugat and Dr. Henry L. Dugat |

| 7 | 8 | | Sr. are celebrating this joyous milestone in their marriage on May |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Henry Dugat, the son of Johnny Dugat Sr. and |

| 10 | 11 | | Catherine Rundless, and the former Bennie Lee Durham, daughter of |

| 11 | 12 | | Luella Durham and Jeffery Durham, met as students in the fifth grade |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | and have remained inseparable ever since; they graduated from |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Liberty Training High School in 1958 and were united in matrimony in |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | 1960 at a ceremony held at Trinity Valley Missionary Baptist |

| 15 | 16 | | Church; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, the Dugats have been blessed with |

| 17 | 18 | | a treasured family that includes five children, Cynthia Mosley and |

| 18 | 19 | | her husband, Amos, Henry L. Dugat Jr. and his wife, Gladys, Daphne |

| 19 | 20 | | Faye Dickerson and her husband, Kenneth, Alonzo E. Dugat Sr. and his |

| 20 | 21 | | wife, Betty, and Christopher D. Dugat Sr. and his wife, Angelique, |

| 21 | 22 | | as well as 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, A leader in his community, Dr. Dugat helped to |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | establish the Lamar University satellite campus in Liberty that |

| 24 | 25 | | eventually became a branch of Prairie View A&M University, and he |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | served as administrative director of both institutions; moreover, |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | he played an integral role in founding the Sickle Cell Foundation of |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | Galveston and in the renaming of a street in honor of Dr. Martin |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | Luther King Jr.; he studied music and psychology at Texas Southern |

| 29 | 30 | | University before obtaining theological doctoral degrees from the |

| 30 | 31 | | United Christian Theological Institute and the Mt. Zion Travelers |

| 31 | 32 | | Seminary; today, he works on the staff of Allison Funeral Service |

| 32 | 33 | | and additionally serves as chair of the board of directors for the |

| 33 | 34 | | Liberty County Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee; |

| 35 | 36 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Dugat began serving as the minister of music at |

| 36 | 37 | | Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Dayton in 1953, and he went on to |

| 37 | 38 | | earn election as an organist for the National Baptist Convention of |

| 38 | 39 | | America; during his time in that position, he toured the country |

| 39 | 40 | | performing at such venues as the Apollo Theater in New York and the |
|---|
| 40 | 41 | | Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, and for his talent and |
|---|
| 41 | 42 | | dedication, he was presented with an honorary doctorate in music; |

| 42 | 43 | | he now serves as minister of music at St. Ann's Catholic Church in |
|---|
| 43 | 44 | | Mallet, Louisiana, and at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dayton; |

| 45 | 46 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Dugat is also a graduate of Texas Southern |

| 46 | 47 | | University, and in addition to the degree in clinical science that |

| 47 | 48 | | she earned at TSU, she also holds a bachelor's degree in Christian |

| 48 | 49 | | Counseling from the United Christian Theological Institute; she |

| 49 | 50 | | currently works as director of Firm Foundations and as a consultant |

| 50 | 51 | | for Liberty Medical Surgical Clinic, where she retired after more |

| 51 | 52 | | than 40 years as a medical technician; her early career included a |

| 52 | 53 | | tenure as the supervisor of morphology at The University of Texas |

| 53 | 54 | | Medical Branch at Galveston; active in her church as well, she |
|---|
| 54 | 55 | | serves the congregation of Trinity Valley Missionary Baptist Church |

| 57 | 58 | | WHEREAS, The enduring union shared by Dr. and Mrs. Dugat is |
