| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The city of Socorro has greatly benefited from the |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A Socorro resident since 1966, Representative Cox |

| 8 | 9 | | had a distinguished 26-year career with the El Paso Police |

| 9 | 10 | | Department; he first joined the city council as the at-large |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | representative in 2006, and he was elected as District 1 |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | representative in November 2013; during his tenure in municipal |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | government, his knowledge and expertise in a wide range of |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | community issues have earned him the respect of many people; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of |

| 15 | 16 | | life for their fellow citizens in numerous ways, and the efforts of |

| 16 | 17 | | Sergio Cox are helping to make Socorro an even better place in which |

| 17 | 18 | | to live and work; now, therefore, be it |

| 18 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 19 | 20 | | Legislature hereby commend Socorro City Council Representative |
