| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This national award, presented for the first time in |

| 9 | 10 | | 2014, was given to nine water utilities that demonstrated |

| 10 | 11 | | innovation and success in areas of economic, social, and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | environmental endeavors; El Paso Water Utilities received high |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | marks in all areas, as determined by national benchmarking surveys |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | conducted by the AMWA; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, El Paso Water Utilities was additionally recognized |

| 15 | 16 | | for its proactive management strategy, which focuses on policy, |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | planning, and technology; the AMWA also noted that El Paso's |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | average residential water bills are some of the lowest in the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Southwest region, largely because of operational efficiency and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | continually improving sustainability efforts; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Employees and administrators of El Paso Water |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Utilities work tirelessly to ensure area residents have access to |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | clean and safe water, and this award is a fitting tribute to all |

| 23 | 24 | | they have accomplished; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate El Paso Water Utilities on |

| 27 | 28 | | extend to all those associated with the organization sincere best |
