Eric Evans began a three-year term on the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas El Paso Branch in January 2014; and WHEREAS, Appointed to this position by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, Mr. Evans has brought to his new post a wealth of valuable knowledge and experience; he assumed his present role as chief executive officer of the Sierra Providence Health Network in September 2012, and he had previously worked as CEO of the Lake Pointe Health Network, as vice president of Tenet Healthcare, and as an industrial engineer at the Saturn Corporation; and WHEREAS, Mr. Evans has further distinguished himself through his commendable service on the boards of directors of the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce, the Borderplex Alliance, the Paso del Norte Health Information Exchange, and the Paso del Norte Surgery Center, as well as on the advisory boards of the Medical Center of the Americas and TeVido BioDevices; moreover, he is president-elect and director of the Southwest Healthcare Executives Association; and WHEREAS, This notable Texan holds a bachelor's degree in industrial management from Purdue University and an MBA from Harvard University; greatly admired for his contributions to his chosen field, he was named the 2011 North Texas Young Healthcare Executive of the Year and an American College of Healthcare Executives Fellow, and he was also included on the 2012 and 2013 lists of "25 Healthcare Leaders Under 40" by Becker's Hospital Review; and WHEREAS, J. Eric Evans has garnered deep respect for his exemplary professional and civic endeavors, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas El Paso Branch will benefit from having such a strong partner providing important input on regional economic conditions; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate J. Eric Evans on his appointment to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas El Paso Branch and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Evans as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
