45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Lieutenant Irvin M. Brown of the Nueces County
67 Sheriff's Office lost his life in the line of duty on February 13,
78 1995, and his service and sacrifice will not soon be forgotten; and
89 WHEREAS, In charge of the DARE program since 1987, Lieutenant
910 Brown suffered a fatal heart attack while driving the agency's DARE
1011 vehicle on the John F. Kennedy Memorial Causeway; the lieutenant
1112 was survived by his wife; and
1213 WHEREAS, Our state and nation benefit immeasurably from the
1314 courage and commitment of law enforcement professionals such as
1415 Lieutenant Irvin M. Brown, who willingly place themselves in harm's
1516 way each day to safeguard the lives and property of their fellow
1617 citizens; now, therefore, be it
1718 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
1819 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life and exemplary service of
1920 Lieutenant Irvin M. Brown of the Nueces County Sheriff's Office.
