| 7 | 8 | | 1995, and his service and sacrifice will not soon be forgotten; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, In charge of the DARE program since 1987, Lieutenant |

| 9 | 10 | | Brown suffered a fatal heart attack while driving the agency's DARE |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | vehicle on the John F. Kennedy Memorial Causeway; the lieutenant |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | was survived by his wife; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Our state and nation benefit immeasurably from the |

| 13 | 14 | | courage and commitment of law enforcement professionals such as |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Lieutenant Irvin M. Brown, who willingly place themselves in harm's |

| 15 | 16 | | way each day to safeguard the lives and property of their fellow |

| 16 | 17 | | citizens; now, therefore, be it |

| 17 | 18 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 18 | 19 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life and exemplary service of |
