7 | 8 | | on February 7, 1981, and his service and sacrifice will not soon be |

9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, A 32-year-old member of the department, Deputy |

10 | 11 | | Runyon was fatally shot while responding to a misdemeanor criminal |

11 | 12 | | mischief call at a residence; at the time of his death, he was |

12 | 13 | | survived by his wife, child, parents, and eight siblings; and |

13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Our state and nation benefit immeasurably from the |

14 | 15 | | courage and commitment of law enforcement professionals such as |

15 | 16 | | Deputy Constable Patrick Runyon, who willingly place themselves in |

16 | 17 | | harm's way each day to safeguard the lives and property of their |

17 | 18 | | fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it |

18 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
