45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Deputy Constable Patrick Stephen Runyon of the
67 Nueces County Constable's Office lost his life in the line of duty
78 on February 7, 1981, and his service and sacrifice will not soon be
89 forgotten; and
910 WHEREAS, A 32-year-old member of the department, Deputy
1011 Runyon was fatally shot while responding to a misdemeanor criminal
1112 mischief call at a residence; at the time of his death, he was
1213 survived by his wife, child, parents, and eight siblings; and
1314 WHEREAS, Our state and nation benefit immeasurably from the
1415 courage and commitment of law enforcement professionals such as
1516 Deputy Constable Patrick Runyon, who willingly place themselves in
1617 harm's way each day to safeguard the lives and property of their
1718 fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it
1819 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
1920 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life and exemplary service of
2021 Deputy Constable Patrick Stephen Runyon of the Nueces County
2122 Constable's Office.
