| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The family and friends of Lena Mae McElroy of Corpus |

| 6 | 7 | | Christi are mourning the loss of this beloved woman, who passed away |

| 7 | 8 | | on April 11, 2015, at the age of 78; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. McElroy was born in Corpus Christi on July 7, |

| 9 | 10 | | 1936, to Tommy Lee and Annie Brown; she attended Tuloso-Midway High |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | School and went on to find employment as a bus driver with the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Calallen Independent School District, where she continued to work |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | for the next four decades; she was a longtime resident of the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Calallen area of Corpus Christi and a valued congregant at |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Annaville Baptist Church; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated to her family, Mrs. McElroy shared a |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | rewarding marriage with Bennett Ray McElroy until his passing in |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | 1986; she took great pride in her daughter, Linda, and her four |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | sons, Darryl, Kenneth, Allen, and Bennett, and she cherished the |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | time she spent with her 10 grandchildren and 11 |

| 20 | 21 | | great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Lena McElroy led a caring and purposeful life, and |

| 22 | 23 | | she will be forever remembered with deep affection by all those who |

| 23 | 24 | | held her close to their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Lena Mae McElroy and |
