H.R. No. 2229
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned five
decades, Sonny and Bernice Jewell of Buna celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary on April 10, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Jewell exchanged the vows of matrimony
at Buna Missionary Baptist Church on that memorable day in 1965, and
over the course of their marriage, they have found in each other a
devoted life partner; and
WHEREAS, The couple count among their blessings a fine family
that includes their children, Alicia Ann "Lisa" Jewell and Larry
Wayne Jewell and his wife, Bethany, as well as their two
grandchildren, Abbie and Bryce Jewell, with whom they treasure
spending many special occasions; and
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past half-century, Sonny and
Bernice Jewell can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and
know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that
many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Sonny and Bernice Jewell on their
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
