H.R. No. 2243
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Raylin Davis and Calum Foster of the Newton High
School boys' basketball team have been named to the 2015 Texas
Association of Basketball Coaches Academic All-State Team; and
WHEREAS, To be eligible for this prestigious honor, students
must be seniors with an overall grade point average of 92 or above
and demonstrate good moral character; nominated by Newton High head
coach Jeff Parks
, Mr. Davis and Mr. Foster were selected to the 3A
squad; and
WHEREAS, By excelling in the classroom while meeting the
demands of sports competition, these dedicated student-athletes
have developed a strong work ethic and a determination to succeed
that will serve them well in their future endeavors; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Raylin Davis and Calum Foster on
being selected to the 2015 Texas Association of Basketball Coaches
Academic All-State Team and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued achievement; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
for Mr. Davis and Mr. Foster as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
