| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Linda Fitzner, a theater arts teacher at Gold-Burg |

| 6 | 7 | | High School, has been nominated for a 2015 Outstanding Teacher of |

| 7 | 8 | | the Humanities Award; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Each year, Humanities Texas recognizes exemplary |

| 9 | 10 | | educators across the state who teach such subjects as English, |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | foreign languages, history, language arts, social studies, art, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | drama, and music; the 12 individuals who will be selected as the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | 2015 Outstanding Teacher honorees will receive a $5,000 cash award, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | and their schools will receive an additional $500 for the purchase |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | of humanities-based instructional materials; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Linda Fitzner has been a member of the Gold-Burg |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | High School faculty for 10 years; she directs the school's popular |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | annual musical variety show, known as Celebration, which introduces |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | young people to many areas of the performing arts, and she also |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | oversees the Gold-Burg One-Act Play teams, two of which have |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | advanced to state UIL competition; this accomplished educator has |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | more than a quarter-century of experience and previously taught at |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Bowie High School and at Centennial High School in Frisco; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, The dramatic arts broaden horizons and deepen |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | understanding of the human condition, and through her skill, |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | enthusiasm, and dedication to her field, Linda Fitzner has enriched |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | the lives of numerous students; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Linda Fitzner on being nominated |

| 29 | 30 | | for a 2015 Outstanding Teacher of the Humanities Award and extend to |

| 30 | 31 | | her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
