45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Haleigh Bacon and Cari Croninger of Callisburg High
67 School earned first place in the Division 1 animation category of
78 the 2015 University Interscholastic League State Film Contest; and
89 WHEREAS, With their two-minute animated film, Home, the duo
910 triumphed over more than 600 other entries from across the state,
1011 and they collected their award at the UIL Young Filmmakers
1112 Festival, held at the Paramount Theatre in Austin on February 18;
1213 and
1314 WHEREAS, The film tells the story of a boy searching for an
1415 elusive sense of "home," and it was written and directed by
1516 Ms. Bacon; the animation, which was praised for its creative detail
1617 and professional quality, was completed by Ms. Croninger; the young
1718 filmmakers were ably guided in their collaboration by computer
1819 science teacher and UIL coach Stephanie Striplin; and
1920 WHEREAS, Haleigh Bacon and Cari Croninger have shown great
2021 initiative and ability as they have worked to achieve their
2122 artistic goals, and they may indeed look forward to a future bright
2223 with promise; now, therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby congratulate Haleigh Bacon and Cari Croninger on
2526 winning first place in the Division 1 animation category of the 2015
2627 UIL State Film Contest and extend to them sincere best wishes for
2728 continued success; and, be it further
2829 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2930 prepared for Ms. Bacon and Ms. Croninger as an expression of high
3031 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
