8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Reynolds grew up competing in roping and trick |

9 | 10 | | riding events with his father on rodeo circuits in the United States |

10 | 11 | | and Canada; he was inspired to become an actor at an early age, |

11 | 12 | | after a meeting with acclaimed singer and cowboy actor Roy Rogers; |

12 | 13 | | Mr. Reynolds first appeared onscreen with his idol in the 1944 film |

13 | 14 | | The Yellow Rose of Texas, and he went on to work on several motion |

14 | 15 | | pictures with other famed Western actors of the era, including Gene |

15 | 16 | | Autry and Eddie Dean; moreover, he portrayed "Little Beaver" in the |

16 | 17 | | Red Ryder series of films, and he also appeared in The Adventures of |

18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Leaving his career as an actor behind, this |

20 | 21 | | an animal trainer; he supervised and directed animals on the sets of |

21 | 22 | | countless Hollywood movies over the course of more than a |

22 | 23 | | half-century, traveling the world and working on such pictures and |

23 | 24 | | series as Forrest Gump, The Three Kings, and The Sopranos; in |

24 | 25 | | addition, he was responsible for the training of "Shadowfax," the |

25 | 26 | | mythical horse from the popular Lord of the Rings trilogy; and |

26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Reynolds retired from show business for good in |

27 | 28 | | 2002 and subsequently moved to Bowie with his wife, Ellen; today, he |

28 | 29 | | enjoys traveling the country and spending time with his family; and |

29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame honors those men |

30 | 31 | | and women who exemplify the individualism and independence of the |

31 | 32 | | Western cowboy, and Don Reynolds is indeed deserving of this |

32 | 33 | | prestigious recognition; now, therefore, be it |

33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

34 | 35 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Don Reynolds on his induction into |

35 | 36 | | the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame and extend to him sincere best |
