| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Vicky Pink of Houston marked a special milestone in |

| 6 | 7 | | her life with the celebration of her 50th birthday on March 11, |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Ms. Pink was born in 1965 and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | raised in the Kashmere Gardens neighborhood, where she graduated |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | from Kashmere High School; after receiving her associate's degree |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | from West Los Angeles College, she transferred to the University of |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Houston and earned her bachelor's degree in communications with a |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | concentration in radio and television; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Pink currently serves as the chief photographer |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | for Houston Style Magazine, in addition to operating her own |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | business, VP Productions, and she has seen her work published |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | locally, nationally, and internationally; in addition to managing |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | the many demands of her career, she gives generously of her time and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | talents as a board member for the University of Houston Black Alumni |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Association and the Northeast Cultural Arts Council and as vice |

| 21 | 22 | | president of print for the Houston Association of Black |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Journalists; she also mentors students, not only helping them to |

| 23 | 24 | | advance in their craft but providing vital assistance in time of |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, This dynamic woman is a valued parishioner at |

| 26 | 27 | | St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, where she serves as co-chair |

| 27 | 28 | | of the lectors ministry; deeply devoted to her family, she takes |

| 28 | 29 | | great pride in her three children, Jasmine, Amir, and Kailah, her |

| 29 | 30 | | son-in-law, Maurice, and her two grandchildren, Hazel and Austin; |

| 31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Widely admired for the passion she brings to her |

| 32 | 33 | | work and for the generosity of her spirit, Vicky Pink may reflect |

| 34 | 35 | | life, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in honoring her on this |
