H.R. No. 2279
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, In a show of great skill and determination, the
Brookeland Independent School District boys' golf team captured the
District 23-2A championship on March 30, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Matched up against other top squads at the Rayburn
Country Golf Course, the Brookeland team triumphed and advanced to
the regional tournament for the third consecutive year; ably guided
by their coaches, Donna Cooper and Mike Defee, the team includes
Jacob Root, Brodey Warner, Stephen McCugh, and Josh Root; and
WHEREAS, These dedicated student-athletes are a source of
pride to their school district and community, and they may take
justifiable pride in their outstanding performance on the links;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Brookeland Independent School
District boys' golf team on winning the 23-2A District Tournament
and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
