 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
 of Estelle Georgie Kaluza Pawelka Poole Bohac, who passed away on
 February 28, 2014, at the age of 86; and
 WHEREAS, The daughter of John and Anne Kaluza, Mrs. Bohac was
 born in Ammannsville on February 2, 1928; she moved to Lake Jackson
 in 1959 and began work at Brockman's Department Store and Sears; she
 was later employed in the mail room at Dow Chemical and eventually
 retired after 15 years with the company; and
 WHEREAS, Highly respected in her community, Mrs. Bohac gave
 generously of her energy and talents to many worthy groups; among
 the organizations benefiting from her interest were the Fraternal
 Order of Eagles, the Slavonic Benevolent Order of the State of
 Texas, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and heart, cancer,
 muscular dystrophy, and cystic fibrosis associations; a charter
 member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, she served on the pastoral
 council and as a teacher and auction chair; and
 WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan was frequently recognized for
 her efforts in behalf of her fellow citizens; the Brazosport
 Business and Professional Women's Club named her Woman of the Year
 in 1969, as did the Brazosport Chamber of Commerce four years later;
 she received the Personalities of the South Award twice, and she was
 included in the World Who's Who of Women; and
 WHEREAS, The former Estelle Kaluza married Fritz Wolfgang
 Pawelka in 1953, marking the beginning of a rewarding union that
 spanned a decade until his death in 1963; she later found a devoted
 companion in R. T. Poole, and the couple were married in 1967; after
 Mr. Poole passed away, she was a single mother for many years until
 she reconnected with a childhood friend, Frank Bohac, whom she wed
 in 1994; she was the loving mother of five beloved children,
 Darrell, Dean, Durwin, Denise, and Darcy; and
 WHEREAS, Estelle Bohac lived a rich and purposeful life, and
 she leaves behind a record of service that her loved ones can
 remember with pride; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Estelle Bohac and
 extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
 husband, Frank Bohac; to her sons, Darrell Pawelka and his wife,
 Glenda, Dean Pawelka and his wife, Shirley, and Durwin Pawelka; to
 her daughter-in-law, Rachel Pawelka; to her stepdaughter, Teresa
 Bohac Wagner; to her son-in-law, Michael Mobley; to her
 grandchildren, Renee Pawelka and her husband, Cody, Ashley, Dane,
 Jennifer, and Jonathan Pawelka, Chelsea Erickson, Stephen and
 Michael Forkum, Douglas Mobley, and Cynthia Huddleston and her
 husband, Jeremy; to her great-grandchildren, C. J. Erickson, Caleb,
 Madison, and Caimyn Maddox, and Mikayla, Logan, and Eli Huddleston;
 to her sisters, Pauline Trefny and Gladys Thurman and her husband,
 Ed; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further

 ESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in honor of Estelle
 Bohac.
