45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
67 passing of Frank Leonard Bohac of Houston on March 9, 2014, at the
78 age of 84; and
89 WHEREAS, The son of Vojtech and Marcella Bohac, Frank Bohac
910 was born on November 13, 1929, in the community of Ammannsville in
1011 Fayette County; he served his nation in the United States Army and
1112 was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict; after
1213 faithfully completing his enlistment, he began a career with
1314 Central Freight Lines in Houston, where he worked up until his
1415 retirement; and
1516 WHEREAS, In 1956, Mr. Bohac was joined in matrimony to Rose
1617 Marie, and they became the parents of two daughters, Theresa and
1718 Vickie, during the 35 years they shared; following her death, he was
1819 fortunate enough to find love a second time when he reconnected with
1920 his childhood friend, Estelle Kaluza Poole, beginning a
2021 correspondence that soon blossomed into romance; the couple
2122 exchanged wedding vows on New Year's Eve of 1994 and enjoyed a
2223 rewarding marriage until her passing; and
2324 WHEREAS, Mr. Bohac remained active during his retirement
2425 years, playing a prominent role in his congregation at
2526 St. Michael's Catholic Church in Lake Jackson, where he was a
2627 member of the Knights of Columbus Council; he was also a member of
2728 St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Houston and a Fourth Degree
2829 Knight at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Freeport, as
2930 well as a member of SPJST Lodge No. 88 in Houston; and
3031 WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan took great pride in his blended
3132 family, which included three stepsons, Darrell, Dean, and Durwin,
3233 and many treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his
3334 favorite pastimes were gardening and playing taroky, and he
3435 belonged to the Polka Lovers Klub of America; additionally, he
3536 found fulfillment in the weekly volunteer work he did at a local
3637 food pantry and in the support he gave to other charitable causes;
3738 and
3839 WHEREAS, Although Frank Bohac will be deeply missed,
3940 cherished memories of time spent in his company will long endure in
4041 the hearts of his family and friends; now, therefore, be it
4142 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
4243 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Frank Leonard Bohac
4344 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
4445 daughter, Theresa Bohac, and her fiancé, Jason Krisher; to his
4546 son-in-law, Michael Mobley; to his stepsons, Darrell Pawelka and
4647 his wife, Glenda, Dean Pawelka and his wife, Shirley, and Durwin
4748 Pawelka; to his stepdaughter-in-law, Rachel Pawelka; to his
4849 grandchildren, Douglas Mobley, Cynthia Huddleston and her husband,
4950 Jeremy, Renee Pawelka and her husband, Cody, Chelsea Erickson,
5051 Ashley, Dane, Jennifer, and Jonathan Pawelka, and Stephen and
5152 Michael Forkum; to his great-grandchildren, Mikayla Mobley, Logan
5253 and Eli Huddleston, C. J. Erickson, and Caleb, Madison, and Caimyn
5354 Maddox; to his brother, Ben Bohac, and his wife, Mildred; and to his
5455 other relatives and friends; and, be it further
5556 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
5657 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
5758 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Frank
5859 Leonard Bohac.
