5	6		WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
6	7		passing of Frank Leonard Bohac of Houston on March 9, 2014, at the
7	8		age of 84; and
8	9		WHEREAS, The son of Vojtech and Marcella Bohac, Frank Bohac
9	10		was born on November 13, 1929, in the community of Ammannsville in
10	11		Fayette County; he served his nation in the United States Army and
11	12		was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict; after
12	13		faithfully completing his enlistment, he began a career with
13	14		Central Freight Lines in Houston, where he worked up until his
14	15		retirement; and
15	16		WHEREAS, In 1956, Mr. Bohac was joined in matrimony to Rose
16	17		Marie, and they became the parents of two daughters, Theresa and
17	18		Vickie, during the 35 years they shared; following her death, he was
18	19		fortunate enough to find love a second time when he reconnected with
19	20		his childhood friend, Estelle Kaluza Poole, beginning a
20	21		correspondence that soon blossomed into romance; the couple
21	22		exchanged wedding vows on New Year's Eve of 1994 and enjoyed a
22	23		rewarding marriage until her passing; and
23	24		WHEREAS, Mr. Bohac remained active during his retirement
24	25		years, playing a prominent role in his congregation at
25	26		St. Michael's Catholic Church in Lake Jackson, where he was a
26	27		member of the Knights of Columbus Council; he was also a member of
27	28		St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Houston and a Fourth Degree
28	29		Knight at St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Freeport, as
29	30		well as a member of SPJST Lodge No. 88 in Houston; and
30	31		WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan took great pride in his blended
31	32		family, which included three stepsons, Darrell, Dean, and Durwin,
32	33		and many treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his
33	34		favorite pastimes were gardening and playing taroky, and he
34	35		belonged to the Polka Lovers Klub of America; additionally, he
35	36		found fulfillment in the weekly volunteer work he did at a local
36	37		food pantry and in the support he gave to other charitable causes;
37	38		and
38	39		WHEREAS, Although Frank Bohac will be deeply missed,
39	40		cherished memories of time spent in his company will long endure in
40	41		the hearts of his family and friends; now, therefore, be it
41	42		RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
42	43		Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Frank Leonard Bohac
43	44		and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
44	45		daughter, Theresa Bohac, and her fiancé, Jason Krisher; to his
45	46		son-in-law, Michael Mobley; to his stepsons, Darrell Pawelka and
46	47		his wife, Glenda, Dean Pawelka and his wife, Shirley, and Durwin
47	48		Pawelka; to his stepdaughter-in-law, Rachel Pawelka; to his
48	49		grandchildren, Douglas Mobley, Cynthia Huddleston and her husband,
49	50		Jeremy, Renee Pawelka and her husband, Cody, Chelsea Erickson,
50	51		Ashley, Dane, Jennifer, and Jonathan Pawelka, and Stephen and
51	52		Michael Forkum; to his great-grandchildren, Mikayla Mobley, Logan
52	53		and Eli Huddleston, C. J. Erickson, and Caleb, Madison, and Caimyn
53	54		Maddox; to his brother, Ben Bohac, and his wife, Mildred; and to his
54	55		other relatives and friends; and, be it further
55	56		RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
56	57		prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
57	58		Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Frank
58	59		Leonard Bohac.
