| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |

| 6 | 7 | | of Bryan Wilbur Smith of Centerville, who passed away on June 26, |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born to Walter and Esther Smith in Houston on April |

| 9 | 10 | | 26, 1927, "Bebe" Smith began working for his father's paving |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | company at the age of 14; he spent the next six and a half decades |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | with the firm and became the owner of the company in 1969; Mr. Smith |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | helped to pave many of the streets in the Bayou City, and over the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | course of his career he received several awards from the Associated |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | General Contractors of America; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Bebe Smith married the former Anna Lee Blakeway on |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | January 4, 1950, and the couple enjoyed 62 rewarding years together |

| 17 | 18 | | before her passing; he was the proud father of two daughters, Donna |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | and Sandra, and he later welcomed many grandchildren and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | great-grandchildren into his treasured family; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Mr. Smith strove always to live |

| 21 | 22 | | according to the ideals and beliefs he held dear; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Sustained by his deep faith, Bryan Smith achieved a |

| 23 | 24 | | life that was rich in family, friends, and accomplishments, and |

| 24 | 25 | | those who were privileged to share in his love and affection will |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | forever hold him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Bryan Wilbur Smith |
