| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Jacqueline Ganschow, a retired educator at Del Mar |

| 6 | 7 | | College in Corpus Christi, has been named professor emeritus by the |

| 7 | 8 | | college's board of regents; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Emeritus status is conferred on select former |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | faculty members and administrators in recognition of their |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | significant contributions to the educational community; many of |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | these distinguished individuals continue to serve the university |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | during their retirement; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Professor emeritus of speech, Ms. Ganschow worked |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | with the Department of Communications, Languages, and Reading for |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | four decades, serving as chair for several years; she has received a |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | number of accolades during the course of her career, including the |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | 2005 Minnie Stevens Piper Professor Award and the 2006 Dr. Aileen |

| 18 | 19 | | Creighton Award for Teaching Excellence; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, This Del Mar alumna is a published author, having |

| 20 | 21 | | cowritten Experiences in Public Speaking: An Activity Book for |

| 21 | 22 | | Public Speaking; she has also conducted workshops and presentations |

| 22 | 23 | | for such worthy organizations as the Corpus Christi and Rockport |

| 23 | 24 | | Independent School Districts, the Portland Police Department, |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi, and the Better Business |

| 25 | 26 | | Bureau; other groups to have benefited from her interest are the |

| 26 | 27 | | Texas Speech Communication Association, the National Communication |

| 27 | 28 | | Association, and the National Communication Lab Directors |
|---|

| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Through her myriad endeavors in behalf of Del Mar |

| 30 | 31 | | College, Jacqueline Ganschow has contributed immeasurably to |

| 31 | 32 | | advancing the mission of that institution, and she is indeed |

| 32 | 33 | | deserving of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |

| 33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 34 | 35 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Jacqueline Ganschow on her |
