| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

| 6 | 7 | | by a great and enduring love, Audrey and Louis Kariel of Marshall |

| 7 | 8 | | celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on April 23, 2015; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Louis Kariel and the former Audrey Daniels were |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | united in matrimony at Temple Beth-El in Corsicana in 1950; through |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | the years, their family has grown to include their children, Nancy |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | and Mark, as well as their grandchildren, Jason Kariel and his wife, |

| 12 | 13 | | Rene, and Melissa Wolfson and her husband, Steven, and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | great-grandchildren, Isabel and Max Kariel and Brooke Wolfson; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Longtime residents of Marshall, Mr. Kariel worked |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | in his family's business, The Hub Shoe Store, until his retirement |

| 16 | 17 | | in 2001, and Mrs. Kariel notably served as the mayor of Marshall |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | from 1994 until 2001; they have both been involved in a number of |

| 18 | 19 | | civic efforts, including restorations of T&P Depot and the Harrison |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | County Courthouse, and Mrs. Kariel is currently working with the |

| 20 | 21 | | Harrison County Historical Museum on an exhibit for the city's |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | historic Temple Moses Montefiore; they are also valued members of |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Temple Emanu-El in Longview, and they enjoy traveling with friends |

| 23 | 24 | | and family; and |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past 65 |

| 25 | 26 | | years, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love has |

| 27 | 28 | | enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace |

| 28 | 29 | | and optimism; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 30 | 31 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Audrey and Louis Kariel on their |
