 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Alexis Chapa of Sullivan City has distinguished
 herself as a singer-songwriter; and
 WHEREAS, Just 16 years old, Ms. Chapa gained notice at an
 even earlier age, making it to the battle round of the Telemundo
 program La Voz Kids, a Spanish version of the hit show The Voice;
 she was featured in Stars2Come magazine in 2013, and the following
 year, she worked with a number of noted producers and songwriters;
 and
 WHEREAS, This gifted young artist made it to the Hollywood
 week on Season 14 of American Idol, and she continues to hone her
 craft in the studio; in addition, she is performing at Rio Grande
 Valley schools as a member of the Never Stop Dreaming tours; she has
 also shared her time and talents to benefit a number of charitable
 organizations, among them Tunes for Tots, Make a Wish Foundation,
 and Be A Match Foundation; and
 WHEREAS, A source of pride to her family and friends, Alexis
 Chapa is working tirelessly to achieve her goals in the music
 business, and her drive and determination are truly commendable;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby honor Alexis Chapa for her achievements and
 extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Chapa as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
