No. 2353 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The loved ones of Jose Dolorez Luna of Robstown were greatly saddened by his passing on April 6, 2015, at the age of 70; and WHEREAS, Jose Luna, affectionately known as "Gelo," was born in Robstown on March 23, 1945, to Basilio and San Juana Amesquita Luna; he shared 45 loving years with his wife, Maria Alicia, and the couple were blessed with seven children, Hector, Diana, Jaime, Julie, Esteban, Maria, and Starr; as his extended family grew, Mr. Luna delighted in spending time with his 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, A devout Catholic, Mr. Luna was a valued congregant of St. Michael the Archangel Parish; he also engaged with his community as a school board member, serving Banquete ISD for 13 years; and WHEREAS, Jose Luna enjoyed a life that was rich in the intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jose Dolorez Luna and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Maria Alicia Luna; to his children, Diana Alvear and her husband, Catarino, Jaime Luna and his wife, Michelle Perez, Julie Ramirez and her husband, Omar, Esteban Luna and his wife, Noelia, Maria Dolorez Reyes and her husband, Manuel, and Starr Lindsey Luna; to his siblings, Reynaldo and Armando Luna, Olga Gonzalez, Sister Guadalupe Luna, Lee Purdue, and Rosa Maria Luna Vargas; to his stepmother, Anastacia B. Luna; to his grandchildren, Catarino Alvear and his wife, Jennifer Castillo, Cesar Alvear and his wife, Michelle, Clarisa Alvear, Sarah, Marcos, Jaime, Jaime Roberto, and Margarito Luna, Joey Trevino and his wife Jacquee Duron, Adriana, Alexi, Julianna, and Isabella Ramirez, and Celeste Thomas; to his great-grandchildren, Avery Nicole, Anthony Joe, Cesar Nicolas, Caleb Alexander, and Olivia Justina Alvear and Jose Trevino Jr.; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jose Dolorez Luna.
