 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Bert Saldaña has distinguished himself as a gifted
 and accomplished artist, and his creative work has earned the
 admiration of his fellow Texans; and
 WHEREAS, Passionate about painting throughout his adult
 life, Mr. Saldaña graduated with a bachelor's degree in fine art
 from The University of Texas at El Paso; he subsequently studied at
 the Smithsonian Institution and worked as a muralist at the El Paso
 Museum of Art for four years; a senior museum exhibit designer and
 artist for the United States Army, he served as chief of the
 exhibits branch at Fort Bliss and designed museums around the
 country for the army and the National Park Service; and
 WHEREAS, Today, this award-winning artist displays his oil
 paintings and prints at the Bert Saldaña Art Gallery in San
 Elizario, and his works have also been exhibited at the Texas State
 Capitol and the El Paso County Courthouse; and
 WHEREAS, Bert Saldaña's talent and enthusiasm for his craft
 are reflected in the impressive body of work that he has created
 over the course of his career, and his dedicated efforts have
 furthered the Lone Star State's reputation for excellence in the
 arts; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby honor Bert Saldaña for his artistic achievements
 and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Saldaña as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
